This Mott and Bailey is at Little Ness. 11th to 12th century. The picture says it all really but a 12th century church now lies next to it and is thought to have been encased in the original bailey. In the book we were following it points out the road seems to skirt the entire area, so there may have been much more than what is now visable.Description Copyright Katy Willis.
